Ashleigh has both a bachelor’s degree in Florida Anthropology and a master’s degree in Ecological Restoration, focusing on wetlands. She has spent nearly a decade in environmental education, working for organizations such as the National Park Service and Georgia Aquarium. She was most recently a 7th grade science teacher in Metro Atlanta. She is the Education Director at the St. Johns Riverkeeper and a faculty at Jacksonville University.
Mrs. Freeman holds a bachelors degree in finance and real estate from Florida State University, as well as a Masters in Business Administration and a Law degree from Stetson University. She is an active business executive in Jacksonville with extensive presence in non-profit organizations. She serves as the school advisory council (SAC) chair at JWJ, and is the executive chair of the St. Johns Riverkeeper.
Ms. La Beur communicates complex science and policy topics to the public. She is passionate about anthropogenic changes to freshwater, estuarine, and ocean systems. She holds a B.Sc. from Florida Atlantic University in biology, and a M.Sc. in marine systems and policy from the University of Edinburgh. Her professional career notably included the Seatle Aquarium and the Smithsonian Institution. She is the Education and Outreach Coordinator for the St. Johns River Water Management District, and oversees the Blue School program.
