In April 2023 we went on a River Cruise on the St. Johns River in collaboration with the St. Johns Riverkeeper - a local non-profit. With the help of educational experts, students had an immersive experience full of hands-on experiential learning.
This event on the JWJ campus is a celebration of the Water Project. Students get to present their work, their research, and the artifacts they created. The audience: other JWJ students, administrators, community members, and local experts.
This is anticipated to be a multi-year program for JWJ and more events will be planned and organized throuhgout the year in the future.

The 2023-24 Water Celebration event is scheduled for
May 22nd 2024.
This is a quick walkthrough of the water project celebration event on the James Weldon Johnson College Preparatory Middle School campus on May 25th, 2023.
In this event the students directly involved in the JWJ water project presented their work and deliverables, such as their research projects, the art they created, their hands-on projects, their Minecraft projects, or their robots.
The event was open to all students of JWJ, parents, community partners, and faculty.
